Nuclear reactions of astrophysical interest for lithium isotopes

چکیده
This paper describes the systematic studies of nuclear astrophysical reactions for lithium isotopes using the unstable ion beam facility GIRAFFE in CIAE. We have measured the angular distributions of some single nucleon transfer reactions, such as 8Li(d,p)9Li, 8Li(d,n)9Be and 8Li(p,d)7Li in inverse kinematics, and derived the astrophysical S-factors or reaction rates for 8Li(n,γ)9Li and 8Li(p,γ)9Be by using asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) or spectroscopic factor.

Developing new methods to investigate nuclear physics input to the cosmological Lithium problem
A significant challenge to nuclear astrophysics is the cosmological lithium problem, where models of Big Bang nucleosynthesis indicate abundances of Li two to four times larger than what is inferred via spectroscopic measurements of metal-poor stars. Recent experimental techniques developed for nuclear reaction studies at energies near the fusion barrier, if extended to reactions of astrophysic...

Observations of light isotopes have flourished and in particular, high quality Li observations in the halo stars have been accumulated. Thus, it is timely to reassess the determination of the baryonic density of the Universe in the light of advances in nuclear physics and astronomical observations. (For details see K. Olive, these proceedings.) Most of the important reactions for Li production ...

Excitation functions of 8 Li(, n), (d, t) and 12 B(, n) reactions were directly measured in the energy region of astrophysical interest using low-energy radioactive nuclear beams of 8 Li and 12 B. Each measured excitation function is strongly affected by one or more resonances through a compound nucleus. The measured excitation functions are presented. Dominant r-process paths through 8 Li at...
متن کاملNuclear Masses: Experimental Programs, Theoretical Models and Astrophysical Interest
Knowledge of the mass plays a key role in understanding the nuclear physics of interest to astrophysics. Some nucleosynthesis scenarios, for example, involve isotopes that may never be produced in the laboratory. In these cases mass models must be used, however there are none in agreement beyond what is measured. A brief review of the various models available and the numerous experimental progr...
متن کاملSmall Effects in Astrophysical Fusion Reactions
We study the combined effects of vacuum polarization, relativity, Bremsstrahlung, and atomic polarization in nuclear reactions of astrophysical interest. It is shown that these effects do not solve the longstanding differences between the experimental data of astrophysical nuclear reactions at very low energies and the theoretical calculations which aim to include electron screening. Typeset us...
